52 New Crypto-Related Companies Join Web3 Domain Alliance

Unstoppable Domains Senior Vice President says the companies will work hand in hand to create a Web3 domain space where innovation could thrive and more people could own their digital identity.

BitDegree, a blockchain-based crypto education platform, and 51 crypto-related companies are joining Web3 Domain Alliance.

Web3 Domain Alliance is a member-led, member-driven organization dedicated to improving the technological and public policy environments for users of blockchain naming services.

The Alliance focuses on consumer protection, preventing naming conflicts, and interoperability of various Web3 naming systems.

According to Unstoppable Domains tweet, the Alliance was joined by Rarible, Wyre, WazirX, BitDegree, Klever, Blockchain.com, and “dozens of other naming systems, projects, and companies.”

In its Twitter thread, Unstoppable Domains revealed that Alliance’s main goal is to “advocate for standards in the Web3 domain industry to foster innovation and a safe environment for the community.”

The Alliance was launched in November 2022 with the aim of creating self-regulating boards. The founding members included Tezos Domain, Polkadot Name System, Syscoin, Hedera, and the Klaytn Name Service.

Based on Unstoppable Domains, the Alliance aims to set standards for blockchain naming. To achieve this goal, the coalition will work with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to improve its expertise and recognition of Web3 Top Level Domains (W3TLDs).

Senior VP and channel chief of Unstoppable Domains, Sandy Carter, said the company is “honored to work alongside new co-members to unlock potential in the Web3 domain space.” She added that together with the new members, the coalition will build a Web3 domain space where innovation could thrive, and more people could own their digital identity.

In September 2022, two Web3 Domain Alliance members, BitDegree and Unstoppable Domains launched a new initiative handing out NFT Domain rewards to every student who completes any Web3-related course on the BitDegree platform.
